NEWS: His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has spoken highly of Buddhism and laid stress on four key roles played by pagodas in Cambodian society development since ancient times to the present.

Addressing at the inauguration ceremony of the Samdech Preah Sangharaja Chuon Nath Grand Building and Khmer Manuscript Research and Conservation Institute, as well as other achievements at Ounalom Pagoda in Phnom Penh this morning, His Majesty the King said Buddhist pagodas have promoted and cultivated morality and virtue, contributing to the harmonisation in the Cambodian society, both religiously and socially.

Moreover, he continued, Cambodian Buddhist pagodas are the place of education, both physically and mentally, building all kinds of human resources; and a repository for preserving culture, traditions, customs, and rich knowledge.

The monarch underlined that Cambodian Buddhist pagodas are also a place of great importance in mainstreaming and preserving the identity and soul of the nation since ancient times.

Besides, pagodas provide shelter and a learning place for the underprivileged, and some of them have become leaders,” he said. “Buddhist pagodas become an inseparable catalyst of Cambodian people’s daily life and social development, i.e. pagoda and society are one.”

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King; Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly; Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister; and many others senior leaders and foreign ambassadors.

This pagoda (Ounalom) is known to be an ancient Buddhist monastery that is the birthplace of the Khmer dictionary through the work of Samdech Preah Sangharaja Chuon Nath, said His Majesty the King.

Until now, Ounalom is known as a place of worship and an active and dynamic place contributing to the education and academic studies in Cambodia.

His Majesty the King also expressed his appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its support to the Buddhism development in the country.

The Kingdom has in total 5,146 pagodas with more than 70,000 monks across the country

此外，西哈莫尼国王强调，在和平时代，任何人都不得侮辱或敌视佛教。他表示：“目前，第七届王国政府在洪玛奈总理的英明领导下，实施了适当的政策，取得了重大的社会进步和稳定。因此，在这个和平时代，谁也不能侮辱或敌视佛教。”

西哈莫尼国王还重申了寺庙在保护和弘扬佛陀独特教义方面的重要作用，呼吁全社会共同维护这一宝贵财富。

此次活动不仅展示了佛教在柬埔寨的深厚根基，也体现了国家对文化和宗教的重视，进一步推动国民的团结与和谐。

本网报道：本月17日，洪玛奈总理发布消息，宣布未来三年将为五个省份提供总计6000万美元，以扩展清洁水的基础设施。该举措旨在响应民众对清洁水的迫切需求，并进一步推动供水网络的发展。

洪玛奈总理强调，“为民众供应清洁水是政府高度重视的一项任务。”他提到，过去政府已建立清洁水供水网络，覆盖各省市，确保居民能便捷地获取干净的饮用水。

“近期，根据工业、科学、技术和创新部的申请，柬政府决定向贡不、柴桢、磅通、蒙多基里及菩萨五个省份的水务局提供6000万美元的资金支持。这一投资将用于扩大这些省份的清洁水基础设施，”洪玛奈总理解释说。

他补充道，这一项目是政府为满足人民对清洁水需求而采取的持续性措施，并表示将继续努力，逐步实现全国范围内的清洁水供应网络覆盖。

本网报道：2025年吴哥宋干节将于4月14日至16日在吴哥窟及国王行宫公园举行。为此，内阁事务部国务秘书郭伟孙于本月15日召开相关会议，以讨论“2025年吴哥宋干节”活动的具体安排。

郭伟孙表示，吴哥宋干节是一项备受欢迎的活动，弘扬了柬埔寨的文化和传统，也是高棉家庭团聚的重要时刻。

据了解，洪玛奈总理在去年9月的内阁会议上提出了恢复举办吴哥宋干节的建议，呼吁旅游部与柬埔寨青年联盟共同合作，推动该活动的重启。

届时，期待各界共同参与，庆祝这一传统佳节，进一步弘扬柬埔寨的文化与传统。

本网报道：据仙女机构总监洪宝介绍，自2000年至2025年2月，吴哥窟共接待国际游客超2800万人次。

洪宝指出，吴哥窟于1992年被列入联合国教科文组织世界遗产名录，但当时并没有受到足够的关注。直到2000年，国外游客开始逐渐认知这一文化瑰宝，并纷纷前来暹粒省参观吴哥窟。

洪宝表示：“今年2月份，吴哥窟日均接待约5000名国际游客。”

值得一提的是，今年2月19日恰逢仙女机构成立30周年。在此特殊的日子里，仙女机构将在吴哥窟举行盛大的“佛教仪式”，并为130名僧侣进行布施，继续弘扬佛教文化和精神。

吴哥窟不仅是柬埔寨的重要文化遗产，也成为国际游客探索亚洲历史和艺术的重要目的地。仙女机构的活动将进一步促进文化交流，为吴哥窟的保护与发展贡献力量。
